Why do we collect and use your personal information
We collect and use your personal information in order for us to provide you with our services.
All details kept by us fall into the following categories:
- Customer information for the key purposes of supplying products, emailing SWC only business/product information, emailing order paperwork and providing guarantees
- Supplier information for the key purposes of purchasing products and claiming on guarantees
What happens if I do not provide my personal information
We need your personal information in order to provide our services to you. If we do not collect your personal information we will not be able to provide our services to you.

We will share your personal information with third parties such as HMRC or the FCA where we are required to do so by law.

We will not transfer your personal information outside of Europe.
How long will we store your personal information
Once any information is no longer needed, any data relating to contacting you that would not affect us providing an ongoing service relating to your guarantees is deleted, however historical emails may still exist on our servers. If you wish to stop dealing with us, you can specifically request that we delete this information by emailing email@example.com and we will ensure that this data is deleted/destroyed.
Please note that any mailshots that we send have the facility to remove you from our mailing list – this request will be honoured and is automatic when using the link on the email. We only have one mailing list, so this would remove you from all communications. We also only mailshot companies or individuals that have provided us with their contact information for the purposes of dealing with our business.
It is not feasible to remove all of your information as we keep the job files for 10 years to ensure that we are able to honour our guarantee commitments. We are able however to remove important information like Bank, VAT, Credit Check and to remove you from contact lists available to the Sales Office/Sales Team. Once the order paperwork has passed the 10 year point, it is recycled in batches using a local trusted recycling centre.
SWC do not harvest, purchase or sell email details, only information given to us by companies/individuals we deal with for the purposes of contact is used by us. Any company that has occasional access to our servers to work has limited access and agreements in place for confidentiality.
